Concrete batching plants

Alquezar has completed the installation of a concrete batching plant for the Daivoes hydroelectric dam project on the Támega River, located in northern Portugal.

This is a major project consisting of three main parts: the Concrete Plant, Aggregate Storage and Transport, and Cement and Ash Storage with Pneumatic Conveying.

The concrete plant is a twin installation, equipped with two BHS Sonthofen twin-shaft mixers, each with a capacity of 4.5 m³.
These twin-shaft mixers can handle aggregates up to 150 mm in size, and the total capacity of the plant is 250 m³/h.

Temperature control in this project is critical, so the entire installation has been built with sandwich panel insulation, rock wool lining, and thermal paint coating.
The aggregates are cooled using cold water and ice flakes to ensure optimal temperature conditions.

The construction of the Daivoes dam project is being carried out by a consortium of construction companies, led by Ferrovial.
